Youth Development Services
Familias Unidas offers a range of programs for young people in East and West Contra Costa County to promote healthy pro-social behaviors that will lead to a healthy productive adulthood. Our health education school-based programs include after-school programs, peer education, teen pregnancy prevention for individuals, psycho-education support groups, and case management.
Socorro - Information and Referral Services
Familias Unidas provides information and referral assistance to individual from our communities who are experiencing difficulties obtaining adequate social support services. The information provided is culturally and linguistically appropriate and is provided over the phone, in person, or through the distribution of bi-lingual self-help directories. We assist clients with language interpretation services (English/Spanish), cultural orientation, and advocacy.
Mental Health Services
Familias Unidas offers counseling interventions that are both innovative and culturally relevant to the Latino population and other diverse communities. Our therapeutic approach integrates individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and medication services. We offer psychiatric services, including evaluation and medication prescriptions, to our patients receiving mental health services in order to enhance their treatment and therapeutic outcomes.
Adult and Children Social Work Programs (Wrap Around Services)
- Bridges to Home: Serving adults aged 25 and older, with serious mental illness who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in West Contra Costa County. Our program provides high level case management through the recovery model including support services such as housing, vocational rehabilitation, and counseling.
- Families Forward is a wrap around program that provides a comprehensive range of services and supports in East Contra Costa County to children ages 0 - 18, and their families who have serious emotional disturbance, serious mental and behavioral issues and have experienced repeated failure in learning and home environments.
